Final Appeal, Bridgerton: The Duke and I, Phantom Evil
I’m still reading To Paradise, by Hanya Yanagihara that is so intense, I had to take a break. Here are some others I finished in between reading her novel. I started listening to the audiobook which is fabulous.
Final Appeal by Lisa Scottoline. This was one of Lisa Scottoline earlier novels. It was fun to listen to, short and visited places in the city of Philadelphia and its vicinity that I am very familiar with. Let’s just say, at one point, the characters are driving to Center City using the I-76 known as the Schuylkill Expressway, which we Philly people call the “SureKill” and follows the Schuykill River. It is known for traffic jams and accidents. At one point, one of the characters sings the jingle to KYW radio station. “KYW, News Radio, 1060.” It is a jingle very well known to Philadelphians and I just cracked up in my car listening to this part in the novel. Stupid things that entertain you. Quick read, and also entertaining to listen to.
Bridgerton: The Duke and I, by Julia Quinn. So, I had to see what all the hype was. Yeah, not a fan. I will probably read the other books here in the library as well, sometime, but here is something different for me: I like the Netflix series much better than the book. I had to jump-start this book by listening to it first from NY Public Library – you know, clean or work out while listening to a book. I’m not getting the hype – sorry. Some love it. Meh.
Phantom Evil by Heather Graham. This is the first book of the Krewe series. Fun paranormal, romantic, suspenseful book and easy to read. This is the book that starts the Krewe team. Graham has over 32 novels in the Krewe series, so I have coined here the “Danielle Steele” of paranormal. Ha. I’ll try a few.
